Job Description
Manage cross-functional communications with internal departments, brokers, FTZ Administrator and other external partners to maintain U.S. Customs Compliance and organizational Central Directives.
Oversee compliant operations including: FTZ binder maintenance, Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) initiatives and audits, quarterly import to export/inventory audits, documentation and procedures including but not limited to receiving, exports and scrapping and abiding by records retention procedures and requirements.
Identify, report and manage compliance risks and discrepancies using root cause analysis and tracking by utilizing 5 why’s and 8D formats and drive escalations and potential resolutions.
Ensure all team members are trained on U.S. Customs legal requirements related to FTZ and track their training progress.
Drive CIP initiatives to streamline processes, meet Central Directive, Warehousing and Customs requirements, identify and optimize FTZ processes, costs savings and other “zone” benefits including but not limited to reviewing/tracking weekly estimates, duties, CBP forms and customs clearances.
Keep abreast of key import/export compliance issues, industry news and trends, changes in regulations through research, industry news updates, attending trade compliance industry webinars, workshops, and conferences.
Manage onboarding and supporting new service providers relating to FTZ topics.
Collaborate with Duty Drawback Analyst to optimize drawback process and refunds utilizing the Integration Point (IP) FTZ management system.
Ad hoc requests and other Foreign Trade duties as assigned.
Requires small amount of domestic travel.
