    Job Description

    The Postdoctoral Researcher will work in the intersection of artificial intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT) for developing novel smart building applications. The researcher will develop novel AI solutions for multimodal sensor fusion by leveraging various types of sensors including but not limited to RGB cameras, WiFi (CSI, RSSI), IMUs, magnetometers, and light sensors. The position will provide an opportunity to publish research papers in top conferences of AI and embedded systems, collaborate with top tier US universities, file patents, and push some of the technologies into future Bosch products in the market.

    TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Brainstorm to find innovative use cases for the application of AI in Bosch IoT products.
    • Develop novel AI techniques of multimodal sensor fusion for utilizing various types of sensor data (RGB camera, CSI and RSSI from WiFi, IMUs, magnetometers) to address practical research challenges of several smart building applications involving access control, intrusion detection, and retail analytics.
    • Develop a proof-of-concept demo.
    • Evaluate the performance of the solutions, summarize the findings, publish high-quality research papers, and file patents.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

    • Experience in Deep Learning techniques (CNN, LSTM RNN, Siamese Networks) and tools (Tensorflow, PyTorch, Caffe2, Theano, Keras).
    • Experience in Embedded Systems and practical experience of working with various types of sensors, e.g., IMUs, magnetometers, WiFi (CSI, RSSI).
    • Experience in Computer Vision.
    • Established publication record in relevant areas is a plus (CVPR, ICCV, SenSys, IPSN, UbiComp).
    • Expertise of using verities of programming languages, tools, and operating systems (C, C++, Python, Matlab, OpenCV, Ubuntu).
