Job Description

The ECU Project Manager is responsible for the development and release of engine control hardware and software projects, customer interface, development timelines, resource planning, and customer quotations.  Coordination of software and hardware sub-project managers and working team members to ensure goals and timelines are met.  Release development projects “on-time”, “on-budget”, “on spec/quality”, and “on profit.”  Collaborate and coordinate deliverables within the global Bosch software development team.

Role Description:

-          Responsible for achieving the project objectives and goals for “on time”, “on spec/quality”, and “on budget” for the Engine Control Unit (ECU) and Engine Management System (EMS) software. 

-          Customer interface for ECU product and EMS software projects, associated development, change management, deliverables, status, and conducting customer meetings. 

-          Coordination of hardware and software sub-projects and assigned team members.

-          Create and maintain project timelines and resource plans to complete tasks within approved budget. 

-          Organization, prioritization, and tracking of customer requests to ensure project milestones are maintained and that customer expectations are met.

-          Coordination of resource estimates and delivery schedules for customer quotations.

-          Responsible to present project status to the customer and internally to the Project Steering Committee.  Authority to escalate issues as required. 

-          Lead Bosch Quality Gate reviews and ensure Bosch quality metrics are met.

Qualifications

-          Bachelor of Science degree:   BSEE, BSME, BSCS

-          3-5 years of customer project management in a Technical field

-          Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to delegate tasks

-          Ability to work within an International Team

-          Positive attitude and ability to build bridges between different cultures and working groups

-          Proficient with Microsoft Office tools

Preferred:

-          Experienced with IBM Rational ClearQuest (RequestOne), IBM Rational Doors, and Management of Costs and Resources (MCR) or similar resource planning tool.

-          Strong understanding of embedded software development and testing processes (V-Diagram) 

-          Knowledge of internal combustion engines, associated electronic components, and vehicle controls.

-          Software development or calibration experience is a plus
