    Job Description

    The Robert Bosch Corporation realizes the mutual benefit of developing students over several work terms in the Logistics function. Therefore, we are seeking to hire students who wish to begin their Bosch career with a co-op at the Florence, KY facility. Students will receive valuable training, develop interpersonal skills, and gain increased work responsibilities throughout the program.

    At the Florence, KY facility, Bosch designs and produces precision automotive steering components and systems sold to vehicle manufacturers worldwide. These include electronic steering racks and various components supporting the assemblies.

    Below are typical responsibilities broken down by departments within LOG.

    WORK TERM LOP (LOGISTICS PLANNING) - LOGISTICS SPECIALIST, COMPONENT PLANNING,

    • Planning of raw materials and components to support level finished goods plan
    • Manage engineering changes as it relates to material planning (obsolescence avoidance)
    • Provides management tools for detailed look ahead at near term deviations from plan, which may jeopardize customer delivery and/or impact FleP manufacturing operations
    • Expedite and follow-up purchased material needed to support the build plans
    • Analyze and track key planning parameters, i.e. customer order changes, inventory levels, premium freight tracking, obsolescence, etc.
    • Analyze and follow-up on planning exceptions
    • Daily contact with Finished Goods planners and manufacturing supervision to understand schedules/issues
    • Daily contact with foreign suppliers to coordinate timely shipments of component parts

    WORK TERM LOP (LOGISTICS PLANNING) – LOGISTICS SPECIALIST, CUSTOMER SERVICE & SCHEDULING

    • Plans finished goods supermarkets for OE customers using the FleP leveling process
    • Analyze and maintains inventory levels (supermarkets) using safety stock analysis
    • Coordinates information flow between customer, Bosch sales and manufacturing to optimize the material supply chain, while maintaining or improving service levels to the customer
    • Manages new product introductions (phase-ins/phase-outs) and engineering/revision changes with customer, Bosch sales and manufacturing to meet customer requirements while minimizing obsolescence
    • Analyze and tracks key planning parameters (i.e. customer order changes, supermarket levels, premium freight, build-to-schedule and leveling attainment metrics, etc.)
    • Analyze and follow-up on planning exceptions; expedites as necessary to ensure on-time delivery of finished product to customer

    WORK TERM LOM (LOGISTICS OPERATIONS) – LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR

    • Receiving of non-production and production material
    • Delivery of production material to the line and removal of finished goods from the line
    • Returnable/expendable packing movements
    • Complaint Management for Inbound (Supplier) and Outbound (Customer)
    • Management of finished goods movements/inventory
    • Shipment of finished goods to customers
    • Process Miscellaneous Shipping Requests
    • Managing and scheduling of hourly workforce

    WORK TERM LOG (LOGISTICS) – LOGISTICS ALLOCATION LEAD / LOGISTICS CONTROLLING

    • Perform root cause analysis of constrains and propose suitable measures
    • Create automated Excel reports for Logistic KPIs
    • Perform inventory reports and analyze trends (bank tracking, FG levels)
    • Assist measure tracking (cross-functional) & monthly measure reporting to AS/LOG
    • Assist with Project Inbound by tracking supplier inventory, make recommendations for suppliers to implement, and join bi-weekly meetings

    EDUCATION

    • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree and in good academic standing.
    • Ability to work any shift or days required during co-op term
