    Job Description

The intern will work at the intersection of knowledge representation (KR) and machine learning (ML) to help develop AI technologies for autonomous driving. More specifically, the intern will develop novel KR solutions for representing and managing sensor data including but not limited to LIDAR, RADAR, video, and other vehicular data. Such solutions may involve the design and development of Knowledge Graphs and Knowledge Graph Embeddings for use in Machine Learning applications. The position will provide an opportunity to publish research papers in top conferences of AI and semantic technologies, file patents, and help to push these technologies into future Bosch products and services.

    TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform a literature review, to understand the state-of-the-art in knowledge-based machine learning technology.
    • Contribute to the construction and management of knowledge graphs, derived from large amounts of sensor data; including both raw data and the results of analysis.
    • Develop novel techniques for embedding knowledge graphs into low-level vector representations to streamline integration with machine learning algorithms.
    • Evaluate the quality and performance of the solution over a range of target use-cases.
    • Present the activity through periodic presentations and proof-of-concept demos.
    • Summarize the results of the activity and contribute to a high-quality research publication.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Strong background in applied machine learning / deep learning, along with use of common tools and languages.
    • Experience with semantic technologies, including RDF, OWL, and SPARQL.
    • Publication record in top conferences and journals is a plus (e.g. AAAI, ISWC, SWJ).
    • Practical experience with integrating knowledge representation technologies and machine learning is a plus (e.g. Knowledge Graph Embeddings).
    • Strong research and problem solving skills.
