    Job Description

    The Bosch Research and Technology Center in Cambridge, MA is looking for outstanding students in engineering to work on simulation of metal additive manufacturing. 

    The goal of the internship is to optimize the gas flow in Selective Laser Melting (SLM) for effective removal of process emissions. The candidate will to work on the simulation of the gas flow system inside a SLM process chamber using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Discrete Element Method (DEM). The goal will be achieved by literature review, modeling, and simulation.  

    Job tasks & Responsibilities

    • Work with international project team to understand the process/product requirements and limitations 
    • Develop simulation plan for assessment of different process conditions 
    • Propose optimal conditions based on numerical simulations
    • Produce report on findings
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Currently pursuing PhD
    • Field of Education: ME, AE, or closely related field with focus on additive manufacturing
    • Experience in CFD and DEM simulations, 3D CAD modeling, and additive manufacturing
