    Job Description

    The HR Manager oversees day-to-day operational implementation of key Human Resource processes, programs, and strategies through direct interaction with leaders and associates in Plymouth, MI and the extended Electrical Drives (ED) teams across North America (NA)/Americas (AM) region.  The ideal candidate will have a strategic HR mindset blended with the competence to execute HR operational responsibilities.  This role interacts with all levels of the organization, including interaction with divisional board of management (GB/BV), Business Unit (BU) leadership, Divisional HR(GB/HRM), and Human Resource Center of Expertise (COE) functions across NA or globally.  This person must deliver key results efficiently and consistently.

    HRBP PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop, implement and track a comprehensive People Strategy for the ED business that is align and supports the overall business strategy.
    • Facilitates effective communication between client groups to provide visibility to upcoming HR initiatives and topics.
    • Work with the Management Team to develop and manage the workforce plan for the next 1 – 3 years, including reporting to executive management regularly. 
    • Oversee and drive all staffing efforts for area of responsibility.  Serve as a liaison between the recruiting provider and managers.
    • Develop and executes HR strategies to attract, develop, retain and fully leverage the talent needed to support the business. 
    • Oversee of core HR processes, including but not limited to talent review (TAR), annual salary review (ASR), performance management (GPD), bonus programs, workforce/succession planning (SPL), etc. Coordinates the interrelations among all core HR processes to ensure holistic associate development measures and people strategies are designed and implemented.
    • Utilizes data to make recommendations to the leadership team for continuous improvement on talent development, talent acquisition, associate engagement & retention measures, etc.
    • Partner with leaders to identify and develop strategies to help build critical competencies require today and in the future to support the business.  Assesses gaps identified through the annual goal and performance discussion process (GPD), competency management (CptM), and annual talent review and succession planning (TAR) to determine future training needs and support to identify and source training.
    • Ownership for associate related topics (labor relations, international assignments, development discussions, etc.) for associates.
    • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale & company culture, increase productivity and retention of talent.
    • Collaborate and build functional excellence with regional ED HR colleagues to ensure alignment on people strategies, ongoing associates topics/measures, and management/execution of HR processes
    • Collaborate and align with other business units and divisions at the site, including participation in site HR projects and initiatives

    HRM PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for the global management of annual TAR process for ED world wide (ww) including but not limited to preparation of kickoff activities and communications to global HRL’s, management of all TP2+ nomination and related validation steps, preparation and facilitation of bi-annual People Conference validation meetings with BV, management of TP2+ associate data for tracking of development measures and movements.   
    • Global lead of Top Talent @ED  initiative aimed to identify, develop and retain talent within ED ww.  Responsible for managing framework and developing strategies/measures to ensure ongoing success.
    • Regional coordinator for all inbound/outbound international assignments for AM region; ensuring that assignments are smoothly executed by responsible HRLs, ensure mentor relationships are active and support the proactive facilitation of repatriation discussions at assignment end.
    • Oversight of talent management processes for Senior Management in AM region including but not limited to Succession Planning (SPL), Talent Reviews (TAR), annual salary review (ASR), etc.
    • Oversight responsibility of senior talent pipeline for Engineering (ENG) function for ED ww.
    • Work with HRM team for the planning, coordination and facilitation in regular global HRL collaboration meetings include quarterly calls, annual conferences and other special topics.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
    • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience

     KEY COMPETENCIES & SKILLS FOR SUCCESS:

    • Expert knowledge of human resources management practices and employment law. 
    • Strong business acumen.
    • Demonstrated experience with change management, organizational design & development, strategic resource planning, talent acquisition, associate relations, associate development, succession planning, performance and talent optimization, and compensation concepts. 
    • Process oriented with continuous improvement focus
    • Demonstrated ability to to work effectively in a team environment as well as have ability to work self-directed and make independent decisions that may be of a complex nature 
    • Excellent skills in both verbal and written communication.  Robust relationship management and interpersonal skills required. Patience and professionalism are essential. High level of integrity and confidentiality necessary. 
    • Must be a self-starter who is flexible and able to take initiative.  Able to work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to balance multiple priorities/projects simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business.
    • Demonstrated ability to partner with other business groups within the organization.  Must be able to work in a highly matrixed organization.  Experience working in global teams preferred
    • Good organizational skills and attention to detail required. 
    • Ability to analyze, interpret and provide data-driven recommendations to improve performance, retention and associate engagement
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Knowledge of SAP business systems desired
