Job Description

The Co-Op should be proactive in establishing relationships with counterparts in Manufacturing Engineering (MFE), Manufacturing Operations (MFO), and other departments.

Key tasks will include the following:

• Identify and lead activities to improve safety, cost, quality, delivery of manufacturing processes in order to meet key metrics within HDEV6.  In particular, the associate will utilize paretos to minimize top failures as they relate to downtime and internal defect cost (IDC).
• Educate and instruct shop floor technicians/operators to independently identify and solve process and equipment-related problems in an efficient and structured manner. 
• Apply lean principles to the value stream to support business needs and plant targets.
• Work within the value stream teams to create and maintain manufacturing documentation according to company standards, especially Process Quality Instructions (PQI), standardized work sequences, etc.
• Assist department efforts to embrace IT systems to streamline information flows.

Qualifications

• Current graduate student or undergraduate, pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (include unofficial transcript - required at time of application).
• Ability to work 32-40 hours per week, with some flexibility.
• High level of team work and self-initiative.
• Ability to perform tasks autonomously and complete work in a timely manner.
• Highly flexible and adaptable with a strong attention to detail.
• Must have high level of computer-literacy, including MS Office Suite with high competency in Excel (Pivot tables, Macros, Vlookup).
• German language proficiency is helpful, but not required.
