Innovation Communications and Marketing Intern (Year-Long, Feb Start)
Job Description

YOU’RE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with a Manager on the Innovation team to help draft and execute the global communications strategy for the IT Innovation department
Provide assistance during the planning, development and execution of the global communications activities
Produce written content for marketing materials and digital communication channels (social media posts, blog posts, newsletter articles, power point and executive communication)
Proof and edit internal communications including stories, presentations, and other materials for various publication sources to ensure alignment with company brand standard and style, as well as factual and grammatical correctness
Attend events at the Chicago Connectory and produce recap stories as well as creating content for the Chicago Connectory website, newsletter and other channels
Support success story communication, including creating short videos (storyboarding, filming and editing)
Manage ad hoc innovation-related content collateral creation
Assist in development of events related to educational experiences for co-innovation programs
Assist preparing innovation workshops and startup engagement programs
Track planning and progress of activities and report out related KPIs and successes
Qualifications
QUALIFICATION
REQUIRED SKILL SET
Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in marketing, communications, PR, business, entrepreneurship or similar
Strong organizational, scheduling, and project management skills, ability to handle multiple deadlines simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills, positive attitude, willing and interested in problem solving and continuous improvement
Able to work in a group setting with people of diverse backgrounds
Experience using MS Office Suite (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Illustrator)
Digital marketing and communication experience through university or internships
General understanding and experience in Design Thinking and / or Lean startup
Proficient knowledge of social media channels
Strong experience with planning and executing events
