Job Description

 THIS INTERNSHIP WILL BE PARTIALLY REMOTE BUT THE HIRED APPLICANT WILL BE EXPECTED TO COME INTO THE MOUNT PROSPECT OFFICE. ONLY LOCAL APPLICANTS WILL BE CONSIDERED.

1. Support the management our Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to ensure product safety information is available to our suppliers and customers. This includes working with management for creating the sheets and uploading them to our database    
2.  Maintain an updated and accurate list of all chemical and hazardous materials onsite while supporting all federally required documentation    
3.  Coordinate the facility’s sustainability programs and work with the environmental awareness team to bring new programs to the site    
4.  Support the training and awareness of health and safety to employees and new hires by maintaining safety newsletters and other communication channels    
5.  Support our Contractor Safety Program for ensuring that all applicable training and documentation remains current    
6.   Assist with internal HSE audits
7.  Support facilities with day to day operation and activities as needed

Qualifications

1.  Enrolled in an accredited academic program relating to health & safety, facilities or engineering preferred
2.  Minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA
3.  Strong detail orientation
4.  Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
5.  Proficient MS Office skills
6.  Experience working in a lab environment is a plus
7. Must thrive in a fast-paced environment
8. Must be able to successfully complete a drug and background screen pre-employment
9. Position only open to students who will not now, nor in the future require sponsorship to work in the United States
