    Job Description

    The Ford Resident Engineer is the primary onsite customer contact to diagnose Brake Controls Modules vehicle/bench issues and support prototype and production plant builds. Re-flashing vehicles to latest level software will also be required as well as some periodic VTC (Vehicle Test Catalogue) vehicle testing to support SW validation. Customer plant support required during new project launch phase or field support requests. 

    Major tasks:

    • Support Electrical Breadboard benches with SW updates and troubleshooting
    • Assist Ford Development Engineering groups with trouble shooting development vehicles, such as retrieving DTCs, or Test trace data
    • Conduct re-flashing of Brake Controls sample parts at Bosch and in-vehicles at Ford
    • Support Service build/bleed procedures
    • Provide plant / build support during all phases of the program
    • Work with internal Bosch team on root cause analysis and resolution of SW issues
    • Assist in winter/summer testing activities as required
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • B.S.M.E. / B.S.E.E. or equivalent
    • 2+ years of automotive experience
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary.
    • Team oriented working style and hands on approach to problem solving.
    • Strong customer/negotiation skills necessary.
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • High energy and driven to succeed.
    • Ability to travel to Ford plants to support builds during launch phases (up to 10 weeks per year)

     DESIRED:

    • Experience with diagnostic tools.
    • Experience dealing with OEM customers, Ford preferred.
    • MS-Office
    • CANalyzer/CANoe
    • UDS Protocol ISO14229 (Diagnostic Services, DID, DTCs-Diagnostic Trouble Codes)
    • CAN (Transmit/Receive messages, Dbc interpretation)
    • Experience debugging (faults/lamps)
