Job Description

The Bosch Research and Technology Center in Sunnyvale, CA is looking for an outstanding student in engineering and physics to work on evaluating real-time state/parameter estimation and control algorithms based on detailed models of Li-ion batteries. The goals of the internship are to design, set up and conduct experiments to test and validate different estimation and control algorithms for Li-ion batteries on a dSPACE® platform.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design experiments to validate different estimation and control algorithms for batteries
• Set up and run experiments on a dSPACE® rapid prototyping platform. 
• Define clear performance metrics and evaluate the performance of the algorithms using data collected in closed loop experiments.

PREFERRED START DATE: January 2020

INTERNSHIP DURATION: 3 months

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing BS or MS in ME, EE, or closely related field with focus on control systems
• Very familiar with generating efficient code in the Matlab®/Simulink environment
• Experience with battery testing and data analysis is a plus
• Familiarity with dSPACE® is a plus
• Strong mathematical background
• Good communication skills
