    Job Description

    The Project Management Intern is primarily responsible for supporting the Project Manager in providing project coordination and leadership to successfully complete high level projects to meet customers’ expectations of performance and schedule, as well as, internal objectives of profitability.

    • Work with sales, applications, estimating, and manufacturing on high level projects to define the customer’s project requirements and deliver an order acknowledgement that meets the customer’s needs.
    • Support in developing and maintaining clear understanding of project objectives, critical paths, schedule & cost requirements. Support discussions including; design changes, project review, questions & concerns.
    • Participate in project meetings; assign responsibilities to team members as needed. Motivate and challenge team members to ensure deadlines are met. Maintain an OPL and take minutes for weekly meetings.
    • Assist to maintain complete record of the project history including any changes in design concept, project scope and the related cost impact. Responsible for maintaining project folders with up to date documents and status reports.
    • Assist with developing Project management processes and tools (team structure, schedule formats, progress reports, financial reports, presentations, forecasting & tracking tools).
    • Offsite meetings required (Warren, MI and other locations). Some travel may be possible.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must be enrolled in an engineering or business study program. 

    • Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree with at least one semester completed

    • Effective oral and written communication skills.

    • Basic PC skills to track project status; strong Microsoft Excel experience (PPT, Word, and MS Project also)

    • Ability to integrate in an international project team.

    • A minimum 3.0 GPA

    • Must be at least 18 years of age

    • Minimum 25 hours a week

    • PREFERRED:

    • Good understanding of sales, engineering and business processes.

    • German language skills
