    Job Description

    As the Technical Author, you will work with the guidance of a Project Manager/Team Leader to develop or update technical manuals and parts information based on the end user needs, client specifications / expectations and the current product information. 

    In order to accomplish this, you research product information, utilize various computer systems for delivery of the final product to client, as well as communicate with both the client and internal contributors to ensure the programs are within established budget and timing guidelines. 

    ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL AUTHOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develops technical information using client supplied resources, such as subject matter experts, product teardowns and engineering schematics.
    • Processes parts release notifications by pulling data from customer PLM system. Release notification is then interpreted and processed in the Bosch authoring application for print and web deployment to the customer service channel.
    • Consults with various client contacts, subject matter experts, and customer engineering systems to gather product specific information.
    • Participates in meetings with clients and co-workers.
    • Work directly with customer contacts to guide them through problem resolution.
    • Authoring service information using various electronic systems, such as XML, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word.
    • Validating technical information based on client-supplied information.
    • Advises Project Manager/Team Lead of project status and potential issues.
    • Completes various additional assignments as directed by Project Manager/Team Lead.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma required (Technical Degree or Certificate preferred).
    • Able to read, comprehend and follow complicated verbal and written communication, such as client communications and technical information.
    • Minimum of 1+ year of experience in technical writing.
    • Knowledge of modern medium/heavy truck automatic transmission applications preferred.
    • Able to communicate ideas, in text format and verbally, in a clear, concise manner.
    • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, and Excel.
    • Familiarity with structured data (XML, SGML) preferred.
    • Must be eligible to work in the US without VISA sponsorship.
    • Not eligible for VA/VN assignment.
