Job Description
A LOG Intern has the opportunity to:
Gain in-depth knowledge of Albion’s Logistics processes
Provide feedback and suggest strategies and improvement based on educational and other work related experiences.
Apply knowledge and experiences by developing and driving a project(s) from beginning to conclusion.
LOG OVERVIEW:
Albion Logisitics Department goals for 2019 will focus on Inventory Accuracy improvements and 3PL productivity gains
The Logistic team is comprised of 6 Logistic/Planning members and 5 Logisitic Material Flow members
The Logistic Planning team is responsible for the customer service, production and material planning and all related continuous improvement strategies
The Logistic Materials team is responsible for the 3rd party Logistic oversight, packaging, physical movement and continuous improvement strategies
AiP’s largest purchased component is motors supplied by the Bosch Toluca facility. Inbound shipments are based on e-Kanban signals from Albion Material Planning
LOG is responsible for a 3PL, which manages material receipt, storage, movement, transport and customer shipments at two off-site warehouses and within the plant.
PROGRAM FOCUS:
GAIN IN-DEPTH UNDERSTANDING OF LOGISTIC WITHIN A MANUFACTURING SETTING:
A portion of each week will be working with the associates in the following groups:
Logistic Planning Customer Service
Logistic Planning Production Planning
Logistic Material Planning
Manufacturing Material Lot Formation
Inventory Analysis
Projects in Materials
Materials Daily Management
Packaging Design and Control Processes
3rd Party Logisitics
DEVELOP AND DRIVE PROJECTS SUCH AS:
A portion of each week will be working on programs such as:
Establish data collection to identify then Pareto LOG and cross disciplinary processes causing inventory inaccuracy
SAP Cycle Count Implementation participation
Logistics Quality
Packaging
3rd Party Logistics involvement
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
Successful candidates will likely be 3rd or 4th year students of a logistics study program and or experience working in roles related to logistics.
Qualifications
BACKGROUND / SKILLS / BEHAVIOR REQUIRED:
Major or Minor in Supply Chain Degree
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word)
Strong communication skills (Verbal and Written)
High degree of accuracy
Detail oriented
Self-motivated
