    Job Description

    This role is hybrid remote with 40% monthly in-office presence at the Mount Prospect, Illinois office (2-3 days in the office per week).

    As the Power Tools North America Packaging Intern, you will embark on a challenging and rewarding journey within our dynamic team, focusing on innovating and enhancing packaging solutions across two esteemed Power Tool brands, Dremel and Bosch. This role is tailored for an ambitious individual eager to apply their skills in a real-world setting, offering a unique opportunity to work under the mentorship of two experienced packaging engineers.

    This internship represents an excellent chance to make a significant impact on our operations, contributing to more efficient, innovative, and eco-friendly packaging solutions while gaining invaluable experience working with leading brands and industry experts.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Redesigning existing product packaging to improve efficiency and achieve higher pack density during transportation (cost savings)
    • Analyzing existing quality data for actionable packaging improvements
    • Managing the circulation of packaging documentation for various functional approvals
    • Reviewing and qualifying packaging die files from printers and external suppliers
    • Developing prototypes using cutting-edge CAD technologies
    • Acquiring and organizing product samples and mockups
    • Exploring and developing sustainable packaging alternatives
    • Supporting the day-to-day tasks of our North American packaging engineering team
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate (within 6 months) of an accredited program within Packaging Engineering or Packaging Design
    • Minimum 3.0 GPA required
    • Strong MS Office skills
    • Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and/or 2D/3D CAD, ArtiosCAD, CAPE or TOPS (preferred)
    • Knowledge of packaging materials, preferably corrugate, paperboard, and plastics
    • Ability to manage project timelines successfully
    • Ability to be organized, self-driven, and proactive
