    Job Description

    The System Management Intern is primarily responsible for supporting the System Manager in providing project coordination and leadership to successfully complete high level projects to meet customers’ expectations and internal objective in terms of performance, schedule and processes.

    • Work with software, hardware and mechanical team leads, sales and project management on high level projects to define, document, track and trace customer’s project requirements and follow up with all stakeholders on a regular basis
    • Support teams in following formal development processes (e.g. support requirements management team)
    • Maintaining clear understanding of development processes and objectives.
    • Support discussions including: requirements walk-through, change request follow up, reviews.
    • Participate in project meetings; assign responsibilities to team members as needed. Motivate and challenge team members to ensure deadlines are met. Take minutes for weekly meetings.
    • Assist to maintain record of the project history including any internal changes in design concept, project scope and the related cost impact. Responsible for maintaining system engineering OPL with up to date documents and status reports.
    • Assist with developing any needed system management processes and tools (schedule formats, progress reports, presentations, forecasting & tracking).
    • Offsite meetings required (Warren, MI and other locations). Some travel may be possible.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must be enrolled in an engineering or business study program. 
    • Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree with at least one semester completed, Business or Technical major
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Basic PC skills to track project status; strong Microsoft Excel experience (PPT, Word, and MS Project also)
    • Ability to integrate in an international project team.
    • A minimum 3.0 GPA
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Minimum 25 hours a week
