Job Description

The internship will focus on 3D simulation of the mixture preparation process in the engine, resulting in a quantitative assessment of fuel wall film formation and subsequent soot formation. The intern will contribute by validating CFD models using measurement data from engine dyno tests, and develop optimized spray targetings to improve mixture preparation and mitigate PN emission.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar discipline with a strong interest in engine simulation
• Graduate student or PhD class standing
• Minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
• Existing experience in working with 3D simulation tools such as AVL Fire
• Ability to work independently

PREFERRED SKILLS AND BACKGROUND:

• Graduate student in M.E., A.E. or similar discipline
• Experience with 1D simulation tool GT-Power
