Job Description

SUMMARY: The student intern will be involved in day-to-day work activities on a wide variety of communication and marketing projects. The tasks will support with building the interns career awareness, give insights into career options, and develop critical skills and workplace competencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Intern will learn and demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and competencies:

• Coordination of small to medium tradeshow booths
• Act as backup to Marketing Coordinator during large tradeshows
• Produce a bi-monthly internal newsletter
• Maintain Excel spreadsheets, create new when neede
• Lead management (Excel & CRM)
• Copywriting
• Proofreading translated technical documents
• Some photography and video production/editing
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Must currently be enrolled in, or have recently completed, an accredited Bachelor's degree program in Business, Communications or Marketing
• Must have intermediate to advanced level experience with MS Office Suite, including MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, and MS Word

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience and knowledge of working with Adobe CC, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro is a plus
• Experience of planning events and/or trade shows is a plus
• Experience with point of sale systems and customer management systems a plus
• Independent problem solver
• Ability to work on projects without direct guidance
• Willingness to learn new software and systems
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects at one time
• Ability to prioritize and organize tasks efficiently and effectively
• High attention to detail
• Good level of communication and interpersonal/people skills
