Make your mark as Operations Manager at Boskalis! Our business units are working as main contractors, for large Tier 1 windfarm developers, with contracts from EUR 30 mln to over EUR 200 mln. In the role of Operations Manager, you will prepare, and guide assigned projects through mobilization, installation and demobilization in a safe and cost-efficient manner.
We have recently established new US Renewables Office in Providence, Rhode Island from which we support our projects in the Northeast of the United States. The team has been growing over the past year and will be a perfect environment for an eager candidate to use their creativity and problem-solving skills within a new industry setting in the US.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide input to the Project Manager with regard to execution plans, work budgets and plans for the use of staff, crew, resources, and equipment.
- Verify execution of operations in relation to the approved approach in consultation with the Project Manager. and take necessary steps to remedy issues.
- Maintain and promote good relationships with client representatives, relevant stakeholders, third parties, authorities, and warranty surveyors.
- Advising on the selection of equipment, vessels, and associated execution methods.
- Responsible for the staffing of specific operations related roles within the projects.
- Ensure that the execution strategy of the operations is in accordance with Boskalis Safety, Health, Environment and Quality standards.
- Encourage and achieve a good flow of information from and to the relevant Business Units.
- Provide support in tender / acquisition processes.
- Pre-selection of materials and subcontractors, preparatory interviews with subcontractors, suppliers of materials, and machinery leasing firms.
- Managing deviations of the contract and taking the necessary steps to remedy any shortcomings.
- Reporting weekly progress to stakeholders.
- Manage, instruct, and motivate Boskalis' and subcontractors' teams of workers and vessel crews.
- Provide information to draw up the final project report and project evaluation.
- Manage, coach, and continuously develop direct reports in order to achieve optimal and creative team performance.
YOUR QUALITIES AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field;
- Minimum 4 – 7 years’ experience as an Operations Manager or Project Manager in a contracting environment; Maritime/Offshore/Construction industry preferred;
- Understanding the contractual dynamics of construction projects;
- Have experience with US Safety, Health and Environmental requirements
- Team player with empathetic capacity towards colleagues;
- Flexible, analytically strong, goal oriented;
