  • Responsibilities

    The Senior Product Manager - Solutions Security will manage the complete product lifecycle of Landis+Gyr’s hardware (embedded) and software security solutions.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    Leading and influencing cross functional teams to develop and execute the overall strategy for Landis+Gyr’s security offering.

    Having an end-to-end solution perspective, requiring collaboration with hardware and software teams.

    Developing and owning strategic partnerships.

    Collaborates with Global R&D and Product Management teams on security solutions.

    Drives and contributes to Landis+Gyr’s New Product Introduction (NPI) process. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Interprets customer requirements and translates to clear product requirements and use cases in PRDs
    • Supports R&D feasibility/traceability reviews
    • Develops complex business cases
    • Works with commercial operations and finance to develop pricing strategies
    • Works with Technical Training to develop product Documentation and Training
    • Collaborates with Sales and Marketing on Launch Plans
    • Works in partnership with Project Management Organization (PMO) to manage cost and timeline expectations
    • Presents to Executive Project Governance Boards for stage gate reviews and Change Controls

    Provides market research for addressing market and/or business needs for a product, including awareness of market trends and direction.

    Supports sales with “Commercial Packages” describing in detail end-to-end security solution offerings.

    Works with Landis+Gyr’s Solution Architecture Group on new product concepts, architectures and sales opportunities.

    Serves as Subject Matter Expert for enterprise security.

    Develops customer communications (e.g. Customer Information Letters, Product Updates, Release Notes).

    Supports commercial opportunities by answering proposals and strategically positioning products and product features

    Contributes to business reviews and planning sessions

    Supports Landis+Gyr’s quality processes

    Presents at industry events, internal sales meetings, Landis+Gyr’s Exchange, and customer specific meetings

    Represents Landis+Gyr in a positive, professional and enthusiastic manner when working with both external and internal customers

    Manages sustainment of existing product offerings

    Supports and adheres to Company’s core values

    Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required

    Required Skills

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required to successfully perform in this position.

    • Understanding of utility specific security standards and guidelines (e.g. NERC CIP)
    • Understanding of security standards (e.g. from NIST and FIPS)
    • Understanding and experience with encryption standards and implementations (AES, ECC)
    • Understanding and experience with authentication
    • Experience with penetration testing, application security testing and 3rd party security service providers
    • Understanding of business fundamentals – roles of various departments in the organization: marketing, sales, economics, manufacturing, business management, engineering.

     

    Interpersonal communications skills

    • Effective use of group and team facilitation skills.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including experience in public speaking.
    • Organizational skills including prioritization and resource deployment.
    • Commitment to task and accountability.
    • Computer skills including Microsoft Office applications for word processing, spreadsheets and presentations
    • Team building and leadership skills.
    • Ability to influence individuals and organizations not under a direct reporting relationship.
    • Language skills appropriate to the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations. 
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. 
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
    • Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid.

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree- Engineering/Computer Science Discipline.
    • MBA a plus.
    • 8 to 10 years in a Product Management or technical/managerial role specific to enterprise security.
