    Covia is looking for a dynamic GRAPHIC DESIGNER who will have a positive impact on the MARKETING team at its HUNTERSVILLE, NC location. 

     

     

     

    THE SUCCESSFUL INCUMBENT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

     

     

    • Translate business and marketing objectives into designs that are persuasive, compelling, visually exciting and emotionally engaging

    • Conceptualize, design and produce effective and aesthetic marketing and communication materials in both print and digital media including but not limited to: adverts and banner ads creation, product packaging design, brochures, product sheets, case studies, technical data sheets, infographics, PowerPoint presentations, flyers, training guides and booklets, direct mail materials, eblasts, tradeshow banners and signage

    • Demonstrate expertise in storytelling, typography, layout, and aesthetics of all creative assets

    • Design within established brand guidelines, contribute to the evolution of the brand voice and image, work with corporate marketing team and creative agencies to expand brand standards

    • Scope and create design templates to be more efficient and drive design consistency through multiple business units

    • Leverage visual storytelling experience including infographics and data visualization to breakdown complex technical information for simple yet impactful presentations

    • Manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, use prioritization skills and concentrate on detailed information in a fast paced environment is needed

    • Maintain job files, archives, and department documentation and project databases

    • Conceptualize and design email marketing campaigns using 3rd party email marketing platform, manage and develop strategies on how to grow existing email distribution lists, optimize for open rate, click-through rate, and response rate, interpret metrics

    • Work with industrial marketing team to develop engaging digital visuals, and provide content generation support for social media platforms

    • Manage annual plant-specific technical data sheet (TDS) / product specification sheet (PSS) accuracy verification process by collaborating with plant managers and/or QC/QA managers; validate the data and determine the effects on customer products by consulting with sales, operations, legal, technical and commercial functions; responsible for updating technical information on TDS/PSS and communicating to the teams about the latest updates

    • Manage product photography and photo editing to showcase our products across various mediums in a professional manner

    • Work collaboratively with creative agencies on specific design projects while maximizing productivity and cost effectiveness

    • Manage project and program timelines from concept through final production of creative assets 

    • Oversee packaging rebranding initiative by working closely with plant managers, legal team, product champions and packaging vendors. Understand bag design nuances and requirements in order to meet artwork submission deadlines   

    • Responsible for evaluating product sampling program and existing label templates. Conceptualize the process that will streamline sampling process across all plants, design new labels within company brand standards and implement the change.

    • Oversee promotional inventory and restocking process, work with promo vendor to discover new/trending promotional items within approved budget, fulfill individual requests

    • Manage marketing collateral inventory and restocking process,  fulfill individual requests

    • Other marketing support duties as assigned

     

     

     

     

    THE SUCCESSFUL INCUMBENT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design required

    • Portfolio required

    • Agency experience is preferred

    • HTML / Web experience a plus but not required

    • At least 3-5 years professional/agency experience required

    • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite

    • Expert knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop

    • Must have a strong visual design aesthetics, conceptual thinking, has an eye for quality with a focus on simplicity

    • Experience creating and enforcing brand standards and style guides

    • Diverse experience with visual storytelling including infographics, data visualization, editorial design, web design, and integrated brand campaigns

    • Exhibit a relentless attention to detail and quality; has a discerning eye for technical accuracy

    • Familiar with SEM (SEO experience a plus, develop keywords list, google analytics and google adwords experience is a plus)

    • Work in fast paced, deadline driven environment while managing multiple assignments

    • Excellent organizational, time management skills and has the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deliver high-quality design on-time

    • Driven, resourceful, self-starter that takes initiative - ability to work both independently and as a part of a team; has a “whatever-it-takes" positive attitude

    • Embrace creative challenges, take constructive criticism and work well as part of a team

    • Video editing skills in Affects or Premiere a plus but not required

    • Advanced understanding of forecasting and planning modules within SAP preferred
    • Good analytical and numeracy skills to recognize and interpret both historical trends and future forecasts.
    • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, drive change, and enact policy as it relates to the demand management arena.
    • Strong indirect leadership characteristics to influence peers within multiple departments.
    • Effective communication skills to present & discuss forecasting information with product and business managers and for senior management review.
    • Strong team player.
