  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking an energetic and experienced Preschool Teacher to add to their teaching experiences by joining our team in this Part Time (15-20 hours per week) position! You will be leading a class of students through the school year (which is September through August) using innovative programs to engage very young children in one of our early childhood music programs, with extensive training provided on all phases of the program.

    You are a caring, fun person who is passionate about working with kids, and seeing them learn and develop new skills. With strong creative and problem-solving skills, you love connecting with individual students and creating an engaging small classroom environment.

    Responsibilities:

    Create and follow a comprehensive curriculum, using in house trademarked or copyrighted programs, after detailed training.

    Work with small groups of 5 students, in 30 minute classes, 2-3 weekdays each week, M--F , 10-2 or 2-6. PLUS Sats (sub) 9-11:30, or 1-4. Sun 2-6 may also be available in 2024. May also work 1-on-1 in 15 minute lessons with same curriculum.

    Follow specific lesson plans, while using resources for games, and crafts projects on occasion.

    Communicate effectively with parents, while at the school, on students' progress

    Work with other school personnel to support this program.

    May work off-site to deliver one or more early childhood programs, with school administration or other faculty.

    Qualifications:

    Experience working in a paid early childhood teaching capacity for at least 1 year.

    Familiarity with Piano or Guitar, and comfort singing simple songs.

    VERY BASIC experience reading music.

    Strong classroom management skills

    Very good verbal and written communication skills

    Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines

    Fun, friendly, positive approach, with ability to control classroom effectively.

    Ability to follow written lesson plans, and execute them effectively.

    A Bachelors in Early Childhood, with an emphasis on Music is a plus, but NOT REQUIRED

    Language fluency in Spanish, Creole, Chinese, French, Gaelic, Portuguese, Vietnamese, in addition to English is a plus.
