  • Responsibilities

    HealthFitness has great opportunities for part-time (1-4 hrs/wk) GROUP CLASS INSTRUCTORS to teach at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA.  In this position you will provide fun, effective and safe group exercise to members and students, both in-person and virtually via Zoom or other online platforms. Looking for instructors who teach multiple formats including: Pilates, Zumba, Schwinn Indoor Cycling, Barre, Indoor Rowing and shallow water fitness classes.

     

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS:

     

    • PROOF OF COVID-19 VACCINATION IS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
    • Current group exercise instructor certification from ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NETA or other nationally accredited specialty class certification required.
    • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required.
    • Minimum 1+ years group exercise instruction experience strongly preferred.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills, including the ability to motivate others.
    • Working knowledge of Zoom Meetings and ability to teach online fitness classes from home.

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • Master's Degree required, PhD preferred
    • Eight to ten years of experience in higher education or a related field.
    • An understanding of University priorities surrounding student success and experiential learning.
    • Working knowledge of higher education administration, organization and budget.
    • Knowledge of trends and best practices in pre-collegiate, college-level, and continuing education summer programs.
    • Thorough knowledge of the daily operations of summer programming in the higher education setting.
