OVERVIEW: Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSA) is a diversified information management company that for over half a century has given market leaders the competitive edge in data management, analytics and technology. We are seeking a Software Engineer I to join the MSA’s Life Sciences division to help expand our mobile portfolio for the Health and Fitness communities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support)
- Produce fully functional mobile applications/features by writing clean code
- Gather specific requirements and suggest solutions
- Write unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions
- Troubleshoot and debug to optimize performance
- Design interfaces to improve user experience
- Work with Product and Marketing team to plan new features
- Ensure new applications/features meet quality standards
- Research and suggest new mobile products, applications and protocols
- Stay up-to-date with new technology trends
- WORK FULL-TIME REMOTE FROM A HOME OFFICE
Required Skills
- Requires a four-year degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Computer/Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three years of experience in systems analysis and programming, addressing unique issues of architecture and data management.
- Proven work experience as a mobile developer
- In-depth knowledge of modern coding languages (Swift, Objective-C, Java, Kotlin, PHP, Python, HTML) and mobile platforms (iOS and Android)
- In-depth knowledge of both No-SQL database management systems (MongoDB) and SQL database management systems, Familiar with source code management systems (GIT, Subversion)
- Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
- Excellent analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude
- Good oral and written communication skills, must be comfortable interacting with other individuals and working in small teams
