PATH is currently recruiting for a Senior Program Officer to join the NCD program team in the Washington DC, Nairobi or Geneva offices. Other locations will be considered.
PATH is a global organization that works to accelerate health equity by bringing together public institutions, businesses, social enterprises, and investors to solve the world’s most pressing health challenges. With expertise in science, health, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales solutions—including vaccines, drugs, devices, diagnostics, and innovative approaches to strengthening health systems worldwide.
PATH's Noncommunicable Diseases (NCD) Program is an exciting program at PATH that has been growing steadily and gaining momentum over the last three years (http://www.path.org/our-work/noncommunicable-diseases.php). Our goal is to improve access to prevention, screening, and care for NCDs and we target diabetes, hypertension, breast, and cervical cancers.
The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the PATH NCD portfolio as well as support PATH’s work in their role as secretariat to The Coalition for Access to NCD medicines and products.
The Coalition for Access to NCD Medicines & Products, founded in 2017, is dedicated to increasing access to medicines and health products for noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) to reduce the impact of diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease (CVD). The Coalition brings together governments, the private sector, philanthropic and academic institutions, and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) to tackle barriers countries face in the quantification, distribution, and rational use of needed NCD medicines and products.
The Coalition has four areas of emphasis: capacity building, supply chain strengthening, finance and costing, and advocacy. Our efforts are aligned with the World Health Organization (WHO)’s target of 80 percent availability of the affordable basic technologies and essential medicines—including generics—required to treat major NCDs in both public and private facilities. PATH serves as the Coalition Secretariat.
