  • Responsibilities

    Plan, organize, train and direct rebuilds and quarterly preventative maintenance of processing equipment. This is to include all facilities within the OSI North America Group. Oversee training, company rules and morale for maintenance employees.

    • Job is an individual contributor. • Job is an individual contributor and has no direct reports. • Create a year out calendar detailing when each piece of equipment will be schedule for rebuild. • Work with operations to plan scheduled downtime. • Plan, coordinate and execute all quarterly rebuilds/PMs on processing equipment with the assistance of plant maintenance. • Planning the rebuilds in advance working closely with plant planners to assure all needed parts are ordered and available on time. • Train plant maintenance personnel how to perform rebuilds and how to identify component ware prior to failure. • Perform required rules, safety, and HAACP requirements. • Provide technical assistance to both the production and maintenance departments; diagnose and make recommendations to eliminate production problems and to improve operating effectiveness through more efficient use and care of equipment. • Research, implement and recommend improvements to plant equipment to reduce costs, improve product, improve efficiencies and improve the general safety of the plant. • Actively identify and initiate process improvements to positively impact financial viability, service and product quality, and customer satisfaction. • Evaluate and assist plant personnel to create a robust and thorough PM program. • Work closely with plant personnel to develop capital appropriation budget and provide input on engineering, purchasing and installation requirements for capital projects. • Prepare reports of departmental activities as requested. • Participates in departmental and interdepartmental planning and management teams and work cross functionally to improve processes within the organization. • Coordinate or conduct maintenance training as required. • This role has the responsibility to understand and places in practice appropriate safety procedures. This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws. • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    • BA/BS or equivalent is preferred.

    Required Experience

    • 5-10 years of experience in related field is preferred. • Experience in a facility-level maintenance and / or engineering (preferably in meat or other food industry). • At least 3 years of experience in automation and controls in the consumer products (food and beverage preferred) and/or industrial industries, preferred. • Strong knowledge with Factory Talk Suite, Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PLC5, and SLC500) PLCs, PanelView/PanelviewPlus HMIs, Industrial Communication Networks (Ethernet, EthenetI/P, DeviceNet, DH+, etc.). • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic control systems and clearly communicate technical solutions for any control system challenges. • Familiar with automation and controls industry standards and support contacts. • Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people and conveyor (may depend on the role). • Work conditions are typical of an office & plant environment. • This role requires 30%+ domestic travel. • Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 15 pounds • Position may require frequent and/or infrequent of bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring. • Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for Less than 4 hours.
