     PROGRAM MANAGER, RACINE, WI

     

    Come join our team! HealthFitness has a full-time opportunity for an experienced PROGRAM MANAGER at our community client site located in RACINE, WI.  In this role, you will manage and direct all personnel and program delivery aspects of a multi-location & multi-functional single client program ensuring the highest level of participation, results achievement, and customer satisfaction.  You will be responsible for contract compliance, strategic business planning, budget adherence, staffing, health & fitness programs, and administrative duties. You'll also implement the group exercise class schedule and may instruct individual and group fitness programs. In the pool area, you'll oversee and manage aquatics programming including lessons.

     

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

    • Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with HealthFitness policies, procedures and applicable laws including recruiting, orienting, training, evaluating, developing and planning the succession of associates. Plans, assigns and directs work assignments to ensure staff remain challenged and productivity is maximized. Provides development opportunities to promote and encourage career growth.
    • Ensures all staff is properly trained and holds appropriate certifications necessary for safe and effective program delivery. Provides continuous feedback and coaching to ensure quality of all programs and services being delivered. Conducts formal performance appraisals on an annual basis and initiates formal corrective action process when warranted.
    • Leads regular individual and group staff meetings to ensure associates are informed about HealthFitness, client and program events, initiatives and status.
    • General oversight and management of all Fitness Centers operations. Submits employment forms, payroll records and billing worksheets accurately and according to contract provisions and HealthFitness policies.
    • Develops and implements the yearly strategic business plan to identify contract deliverables, program/ service offerings and initiatives, targeted outcomes and marketing strategy to meet client objectives.
    • Prepares and manages operating budget. Ensures expenditures are made in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
    • Develops outcomes focused programs to meet client objectives. Interfaces with client company management and peripheral departments.
    • Tracks participant and program data for measurement of individual and program goal achievement, outcomes and results. Creates outcomes focused management reports based on the identified business plan goals and objectives.
    • Directs program implementation, health education activities, motivational programs and special events. Coordinates marketing and communications to maximize program engagement, bringing in HealthFitness Corporate support as appropriate.
    • Other duties as needed/assigned.

      

    WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

    • 1-3 years related industry experience & the ability to lead, manage and operate a robust fitness, aquatic, and recreation program.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Current Adult CPR/AED and First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute.
    • Industry recognized Group Exercise certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT, or NETA required within 90 days of hire.
    • ARC Lifeguard certification required within 90 days of hire.
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others. Must be able to organize and prioritize work demands.
    • Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook. 
    • Ideal candidates will have a Personal Training certification from an industry recognized and HealthFitness approved provider and proficiency in fitness assessment and exercise prescription. 
    • Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.

  • Qualifications

    Minimum qualifications include a doctoral degree in epidemiology or a related field (e.g., cancer biology, molecular biology, statistical genetics), demonstrated expertise in cancer epidemiology, and a track record of scholarship in the form of peer-reviewed publications. Faculty candidates should also have completed postdoctoral training. Candidates should already have or should demonstrate the potential for extramural research funding. Academic rank will be determined in accordance with the successful candidate’s experience and scholarly record. The successful faculty candidate will be expected to develop an independent research program with a focus on cancer, including cancer health disparities, based in part on data and resources from the Black Women’s Health Study, and to engage in collaborative research with other Black Women’s Health Study investigators.
