Our Datacenter Operations team is seeking a Network Engineer to plan, implement, deploy and maintain the corporate network supporting SilkRoad’s business needs as well as ensuring high availability across all systems and applications.
Your contributions to SilkRoad will include:
- Designing, building and configuring new network infrastructure and maintaining and upgrading existing network systems including but not limited to: local area networks, wide area networks, wireless networks and VPNs.
- Creating and maintaining network infrastructure documentation including system diagrams and network configurations.
- Monitoring, planning and updating IT systems with latest patches.
- Monitoring system logs to ensure system performance and availability.
- Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including: routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP.
- Configuring firewalls, routers and switches to maximize network efficiency and security.
- Performing disaster recovery activities using data backup restorations.
- Maintaining network equipment, analyzing changes, and modifying equipment configurations as needed.
- Working with other teams to ensure successful transitions and the knowledge transfer of new technologies.
Required Skills
- Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems.
- Clear and concise interpersonal, written and verbal communications.
- Experience with designing, configuring, and supporting Cisco networking devices, load balancers and firewalls.
- Routing experience (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.) that includes design, configuration, troubleshooting and redistribution.
- Experience with site to site and client VPN configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with firewall administration and support.
- Experience with network security technology.
- Extensive packet capture and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience in network load balancing technologies.
- Experience migrating functions and networks to private, public, and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
- Proficient with computer software including Salesforce and MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related IT field or equivalent work experience is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience support networks and servers in a datacenter environment.
- Certifications are preferred but not required (CCNP, CCNA, CCIE, PCNSE).
- Experience with Network security is a plus.
