    POSITION OVERVIEW: 

    Our IT team is growing and currently looking for a 2021 Summer IT Intern in our DEVOPS team.  As a Trustmark Intern, you will participate in a paid, 10 week summer program from 6/1/21 – 8/7/21 where you will work collaboratively will leaders, staff and other Interns across IT.  We’re planning on an in-person Internship experience at our corporate headquarters in Lake Forest.  We’ll continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and if necessary will move to a remote Internship experience based on advice from medical experts.

     

    In this role, you will have an opportunity to learn from our expert DevOps engineers and a chance to work with a team of skilled DevOps engineers and software developers, assisting in building features for our CI/CD environment. You will be part of an Agile development team learning and following our SDLC and exposed to the latest techniques of building and deploying software into a Cloud environment. You will assist in automating and streamlining our operations and development processes.  You will build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations, and troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments.  You will also write scripts and technical knowledge articles while configuring technical tools, and seek better ways for the team to work.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Participate on incident and alert triage calls, live troubleshooting and impact mitigation.
    • Plan, organize, write, and edit knowledge articles and processes to continually reduce incident resolution times
    • Collect current technical maps and baseline a comprehensive library of technical architectures. Update CMDB with information.
    • Configure technical tools and write scripts to advance automation

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Strong intellectual curiosity
    • Current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science or related field with a current GPA 3.0 or higher.
    • Must be graduating with a Bachelor’s degree between December, 2021 and Spring/Summer, 2022.
    • Familiarity with one of the major cloud providers Amazon AWS, GCP or Azure
    • A working understanding of code and script
    • Ability to use a wide range of open source technologies and cloud services.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Must be able to work full-time (37.5 hour work week) during the duration of the program

    Required Qualifications, Skills, Abilities:

    -BA/BS required, Graduate degree preferred -5 - 8 years of professional experience in fast paced operational environment; working with international students preferred

    -Demonstrated intercultural competence

    -Strong analytical ability -Highly organized and demonstrated project management skills

    -Familiarity and experience with online course development and platforms

    -Excellent communication and listening skills

    -Ability to work across functions, departments., career levels and skill sets

    -Adaptability and flexibility

    -Works well under pressure

    -Ability to work independently and to be a team player

    -Expertise with Office 365, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel. Experience with EdX a plus
