  • Responsibilities

    HealthFitness has a fun, new opportunity for a part-time (up to 20 hrs/wk) CHILDREN'S GROUP CLASS INSTRUCTOR to join our client's Recreation Team.  In this position, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering safe yet effective children’s group exercise classes at Armstrong Park located in Racine, WI. These may include classes themed around sports, seasonal activities, tumbling and more!

     

     

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Provide group exercise classes for young patrons.
    • Possess interpersonal skills to communicate necessary information with clients.
    • Possess strong time management skills.
    • Maintain up to date status with staff certifications and improvements of the American Red Cross.
    • Remain current in necessary certifications.
    • Other duties as needed/ assigned.

     

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS:

     

    REQUIRED:

    • Must be at lease 16 years of age.
    • CPR/first aid certification from American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institute.
    • Ability to teach and demonstrate necessary exercises

     

    PREFERRED:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in kinesiology or exercise science related discipline.
    • 1+ years of group exercise experience.

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Animal Science, or related field

    • At least five years supervisory or management experience in a food manufacturing environment working in or with Production, Quality Control, Inspection, or Sanitation

    • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices, hazard analysis and critical control points, lean manufacturing and other food safety, quality and manufacturing principles.

    • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with employees at all levels of the organization.

    • Ability to work with employees at all levels and to motivate direct reports; specifically mentoring and coaching individuals and identifying short- and long-term development needs and providing appropriate support.

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time using effective organizational skills and judgment in an environment of frequently changing circumstances.

    • Ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of applications; specifically using Word to create and modify documents, Excel to record data and calculate results, and Outlook to communicate internally and externally.
