HEALTHFITNESS is looking for a PROGRAM MANAGER I at our multi-tenant facility in SCHAUMBURG, IL. In this role, you'll manage and direct all operational aspects of our multi-tenant onsite fitness program ensuring the highest level of participation, results achievement and customer satisfaction in the delivery of programs and services.     WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

    • Direct and market fitness center programs and initiatives based on individual and group needs. Deliver health education activities, motivational programs and special events.
    • Manage all fitness center program activities in accordance with operational, quality, safety and service standards.
    • Implement and instruct individual and group fitness programs, provide floor supervision, fitness testing, exercise prescriptions, and orientations.
    • Supervise 2 part-time associates in accordance with HealthFitness policies, procedures and applicable laws including recruiting, orienting, training, evaluating, developing and succession planning. Plan, assign and direct work assignments to ensure staff remains challenged and productivity is maximized. 
    • Staff training & development to promote and encourage career growth. Ensures staff is properly trained and hold appropriate certifications necessary for safe and effective program delivery, conduct annual formal performance appraisals, and initiate formal corrective action process when warranted.
    • Submit employment forms, payroll records and billing worksheets accurately and according to contract provisions and HealthFitness policies.
    • Ensure contract compliance and manage client relationship.
    • Develop and manage the yearly strategic business plan, operating budget, and outcomes focused programs that meet client objectives.
    • Track and report participant and program data for measurement of individual and program goal achievement and results.
    • Other duties as needed/assigned.

     

    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology or related discipline and 1+ years related experience (or the equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience).
    • Ability to lead, manage and operate a fitness center. Proficiency in fitness assessment and exercise prescription.
    • Current adult CPR/AED/First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute.
    • Group Exercise Instructor certification from a HealthFitness recognized provider, i.e. AFAA, ACE, ACSM, NETA, and the ability to instruct a variety of class formats.  If certification is not current, will be required within 60 days of hire.
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
    • Self-motivated and dependable with the ability to work autonomously.
    • Creative thinker with the ability to organize and strategize implementation of programming and outreach efforts.
    • Proven ability to build rapport and trust across various levels of leadership. Works well independently and collaboratively.
    • Experience in creating promotional communications (brochures, flyers, presentations, etc.) for distribution.
    • Computer proficiency in MS Office including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Will be required to follow any current or future site COVID-19 vaccination policies including but not limited to proof of vaccination, weekly testing, etc. 
    • Ideal candidates will also have a Personal Training certification from an industry recognized and HealthFitness approved provider and previous supervisory experience.

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications

    B.A./B.S. with eight plus years of directly related experience including a minimum of five years' experience leading a marketing and design team and preferably in an agency environment and eight years of related experience. Demonstrated creative ability, presentation and communication skills with an outstanding portfolio of print design. Experience overseeing and directing the work of designers, writers, photographers, and other team members. Personnel management skills, including the recruiting of talent and fostering of a highly productive studio culture essential. Superb time management and project management skills. Innovative and creative thinking with the ability to take the lead in developing visual design excellence in print publications. Outstanding attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to collaboratively lead across teams. Requires flexibility and adaptability to new technology in a changing environment. Requires ability to prioritize multiple projects. Ability to work well under pressure and on high visibility projects. Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign expertise required. Digital workflow such as InCopy experience a plus.

     

    May require work outside normal business hours.
