Position Summary:

Transparency & Traceability Specialist is responsible for data management related to material integrity and compliance with all sustainability claims around product, materials, and materials processing. This role involves collection, tracking, validating and organization of supply chain data, including third party certifications, chemistry and fiber programs, fiber and production origin, and other environmental, social, and production attributes of our product and material supply chains. T&T Specialist will have an active role in data analysis and will be an active participant in working groups and projects led by Materials Sustainability, Transparency & Traceability Team (MASTT), contributing research content, providing organizational support and supply chain data needed to make strategic decisions.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Management

• Collect, validate, and record third party certificates for sustainable material claims including organic, recycled, branded fibers, and other sustainability attributes (including fiber material licensing)
• Collect material and product supply chain information from textile mills, dyehouses and factories
• Initiate seasonal Material Ranking Tool report and maintain essential material data
• Verify material supply chain information in Smartsheet database and escalate any discrepancies or non-compliance to MASTT team leaders
• Maintain vendor and supplier records including names, locations, certifications, or other attributes for the purpose of supply chain mapping

Data Analysis

• Collect and analyze data for CFMB report, B-Corp audit, Benefits Corp annual report and other internal and external reporting as needed.
• Build new and refine or evolve existing processes related to data collection, preparation, and maintenance.
• Facilitate integration of IT solutions for purposes of data integrity, enabling consistent and accurate reporting on EILEEN FISHER’s sustainable material goals and progress

Data Reporting & Communication

• Develop and distribute learning and training tools for suppliers on EF certification requirements
• Maintain material and fiber sustainability attributes in the internal systems; Provide data and analysis for EF website, social media and other brand communication needs
• Assist MASTT leaders with projects as needed, with emphasis on communicating effectively and accurately on our key insights, progress and goals around material sustainability, transparency and traceability.

College degree or equivalent experience in environmental science or sustainability field preferred

The ideal candidate must have:

• A minimum of 2-3 year of experience in a similar capacity.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced working knowledge of Excel, ease with database systems, and experience organizing data and research deliverables.
• Detail oriented, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and be a strong analytical thinker.
• Knowledge of global organic standards, safe chemistry programs, and chain of custody certifications preferred; knowledge of textile science and fibers a plus.

The successful candidate will have expertise in the visual arts and an advanced degree(s) in one or more of the following areas: Visual Arts, Museology, Art History, Theater, Organizational Management, Public Administration, Arts Leadership, Art Business, or Cultural Entrepreneurship, or a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in arts administration; 3-5 years experience teaching at the university level and a national reputation in the field as either an artist/practitioner or scholar/researcher. We welcome applications from candidates with professional and industry experience in addition to the terminal degree.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Faculty duties include teaching up to six courses at the graduate level per academic year, conducting active research, participating in course and curriculum development, and mentoring part-time faculty and students, as well as providing service to the department, college and the university. This is a full-time non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, with a 2-5 year renewable contract.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
