    Position Summary: ****

    The position will be responsible for user account administration, networking monitoring, mobile device management and monitoring, and system updates. The role will also partner with other IT staff to help support overall IT efforts. This position requires technical proficiency, an eager attitude, professionalism, and solid communication skills. The position will be required to generate monthly reports and assist with vendor management .

    Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Trouble shooting, installation, and configuration of system software. Working directly with end users and IT staff to resolve technical support issues and implement solutions
    • Perform schedule and deploy upgrades (Firmware, IOS updates / critical patches.)
    • Identify and troubleshoot network issues (Firewalls, VPNs, Routing, Switching, etc.) in LAN, WAN and wireless environments
    • Manage and support Cisco WebEx Teams Unified Communications Platform and VoIP phone systems
    • Administration of Active Directory, Webex, Soti, AirWatch, and other software titles as introduced.
    • Perform intermediate to advance level enterprise security patching and application updates on Mobile Devices and systems.
    • Perform intermediate to advanced level troubleshooting and remediation of issues with mobile devices and deployed applications
    • Reviewing and carrying out software and systems request directives as required. Overseeing the troubleshooting and owning software and systems problems; notifying outside vendors if required
    • Supervising the work of vendor technicians to assure compliance with specifications and agreed-upon levels of service. Maintaining accurate documentation of MDM systems architecture, inventory, and security measures associated with the company's mobile devices.
    • Creation of both Internal and external documentation as it relates to IT systems.
    • Working with all IT team members to assess and solve company-wide IT issues. Collaborate and contribute as a team member understanding personal and team roles.
    • Provide Tier 3 support for escalated technical service requests.

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related area), or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. Relevant certifications, i.e. Windows, Cisco, etc. are a plus

    Required Skills &Experience:

    • 4+ years of progressively responsible experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of mobile devices, networking, system software, and drivers in support of end user computing devices.
    • 3+ years’ experience with systems administration, troubleshooting, maintenance-related programming, and production support.
    • Demonstrated experience with MDM systems administration.
    • Understanding of Active Directory architecture.
    • Demonstrated project management skills.
    • Experience in supporting the Microsoft suite of application software.
    • Knowledge of Wi-Fi, local and wide area networks technologies.
    • Demonstrated experience working with hardware and software vendors
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required; Must be able to translate highly technical language for teams of various tech literacy levels
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Scripting and/or automation experience is a plus
    • Experience with AWS and Azure is a plus

    The hiring salary range for this role is $90,000 - 100,000/yr. dependent upon experience and qualifications. In addition, we offer competitive benefits including a generous clothing allowance, wellness reimbursement program, and a flexible work schedule.

  • Qualifications

    The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field and have a demonstrated successful teaching and research record. We welcome applications from candidates with a terminal degree who have extensive professional and industry experience as well as an interest in teaching and applied research.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: Faculty duties include teaching up to six courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels per academic year, including blended and online courses, conducting active research, participating in course and curriculum development, and mentoring part-time faculty and students, as well as providing service to the department, college and the university. This is a full-time non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Associate Professor of the Practice, with a 2-5 year renewable contract. 

    This faculty position offers significant opportunity for interdisciplinary and collaborative scholarly work, including research and curriculum development within Metropolitan College and Boston University, as well as the greater Boston area.
