ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a reliable, professional Bouncer to join our team for weekend nights. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and orderly environment for both guests and staff. Additional hours may be available in tipped support roles such as bar-back or food runner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Security & Guest Safety
Check IDs to verify guests are 21+ and compliant with Wisconsin law
Monitor guest behavior and proactively identify potential issues
Refuse entry or service to intoxicated, aggressive, or non-compliant patrons
Calmly and professionally de-escalate conflicts
Enforce house policies, including rules of conduct and dress code
Ensure all guests exit the premises at bar close
Conduct routine patrols of interior and exterior areas
Communicate safety concerns to management
Coordinate with law enforcement when necessary
Physically intervene when required to maintain safety and order (per company policy)
Closing & Support Duties
Assist with trash removal and light sweeping
Put up chairs and help reset the space at close
Help bartenders restock and break down at the end of the shift
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Required:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Authorized to work in the United States
Available to work weekend nights consistently
Strong communication and situational awareness
Ability to follow management direction and house policies
Reliable transportation to and from shifts
Preferred:
Prior experience in security, bouncer, bar, nightclub, or hospitality roles
Experience checking IDs and handling guest interactions
Training or experience in conflict resolution / de-escalation
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (trash, chairs, supplies)
Ability to move quickly and respond to situations as needed
Ability to work in a loud, crowded, fast-paced environment
Ability to physically intervene when necessary to maintain safety (within policy)
Training & Certification Requirements
Must complete a required company-provided online training course before the first shift (covers guest safety, ID compliance, de-escalation, and house policies)
Willingness to complete any required Wisconsin alcohol compliance / responsible beverage server training, if applicable
Willingness to participate in ongoing safety and refresher training as needed
