    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Certified Nurse Assistant is responsible for delivering basic care to patients in a safe and timely manner based on the Policies and Philosophies of the facility. They will be supervised in all aspects of that care.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

    Graduate of Nurses Aide program, or Current Idaho certification for Nurse Aide

    Current CPR certification.

    Work experience preferred for verification of attendance and performance.

    Minimum 1 year CNA work experience and or 2 yrs EMT experience required.

    Good public relations/customer service skills

    Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and basic computer skills, key board at 20 wpm.

    SCHEDULE:

    Shift is 10 am – 10 pm including weekends shifts.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/REQUIREMENTS:

    Assisting to transfer patients to/from assigned room

    Vital signs including pain level 0 -10 on admission, discharge and as directed by the RN or MD

    Assisting patient to don gowns as appropriate

    Set up of central monitor to insure patient’s rhythm can be monitored from the ED & AC nurses stations.

    Answering the phone, honoring all HIPAA regulations.

    Assisting to prepare rooms for anticipated patients (e.g., cardiac, trauma, etc.)

    Clean procedure rooms according to environmental services standards.

    Assist on Acute Care/ECF during downtimes

    Re-stock unit supplies as needed

    Quality assurance documentation

    CPR compressions if CPR certified

    Assisting the physician for set-up and/or during procedures such as splinting, casting, eye exams, ear exams, nasal exams, pelvic exams, intubation, spinal taps, chest insertion, I.O. insertion, suturing etc.

    Assisting to maintain close observation of patients who are confused, agitated or distraught.

    Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as situations require maintaining Infection Control standards set by the Hospital.
