    Job Description

    Bourland, Wall & Wenzel, a downtown Fort Worth Law Firm, is seeking a Legal Assistant to become a part of our team! This is a floater position for all of the practice areas in our Firm.

    This position requires strong reading, writing, editing, and organizational skills. Responsibilities include direct communication with attorneys and clients, document drafting, proofing and various administrative responsibilities.

    Candidates must be self-motivated and willing to take initiative on projects.

    This is a challenging, fast-paced and busy practice and we are seeking an enthusiastic candidate who thrives in this type of environment.

    SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

    • Prior work in a professional work environment (required)
    • Previous experience as a legal assistant, paralegal or other legal field (strongly preferred)
    • College degree (required)
    • Familiarity with legal research
    • Ability to prioritize and multitask
    • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook (required)-ability to edit and format documents so they have a high-quality level of appearance and grammatical content
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Deadline and detail-oriented
    • Positive attitude

    OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Typing, transcription, and excellent telephone skills
    • Ability to follow multi-step directions and apply prior knowledge/experience to new projects; confidence to stop and ask for further direction/clarification when needed
    • Ability to gather and synthesize information from a variety of sources, including notes, attorney direction, client website, government website, client file, etc., in order to draft documents and forms
    • Organization and attention to detail when organizing files, drafting documents, filling out forms, arranging workspace, etc.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and switch back-and-forth between multiple tasks as needed
    • Professional conduct when corresponding with clients and colleagues via telephone, email, etc.
