An innovative biotech company located in San Diego, CA is seeking a Biotech Payroll Accountant to join their team. • Prepares journal entries and reconciliations for compensation-related transactions including payroll, taxes, 401k, PTO accrual, stock compensation and other employee benefits.
• Assists in processing regular and ad hoc payrolls for salaried and hourly employees
• Monitors incoming shared payroll emails responding appropriately
• Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.
• Provides a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliation

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related discipline
• Strong understanding of US GAAP
• 2+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance, preferably in Biotech/Pharmaceutical Industry
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and experience in ERP and payroll system
