AFTER SCHOOL TEACHERS WANTED Part-time After-School Teacher (24 hrs/wk M-F) for the 2021-2022 School Year Bowen After School Care Program, Newton Are you an experienced educator, a learning-agile artist, or a technology expert eager to work with school-age children in a highly regarded after-school program? Bowen After School Care Program seeks energetic, engaged, and compassionate individuals to join our teaching team. What does a Teacher do? As a Teacher you play a formative role in the social educational development of the students. You will work with a specific age group who love the flexibility of how they choose to spend their afternoons and the quality of the care they receive. Each day, you will: - Greet children arriving to the program, and prepare and serve nutritious snacks; - Facilitate children's learning experiences and activities; - Provide structure and support for homework and literacy; and - Maintain collaborative and professional relationships with both students and parents, focusing on each child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. What kinds of experience and skills do Teachers need? - Experience working closely with school-age children in a childcare, school, or camp setting - Enthusiasm for teaching and the ability to keep children engaged in learning - Willingness to learn and implement new classroom strategies to manage behaviors - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Ability to work in close partnership with members of your team - Ability to pass CORI/SORI checks - A statement of health from a physician - Positive references from past employers/teachers What your September to June work schedule will be: Mondays: 2:00-6pm Tuesdays: 2:00-6pm (There is 1 Tuesday with 10am-6pm shift during the year) Wednesdays: 10am-6pm Thursdays: 2:00-6pm (There are 5 Thursdays with 10am-6pm shifts during the year) Fridays: 2:00-6pm What are the pay and benefits? - $16-$20/hour based on your experience and qualifications - Health and dental insurance - Aflac benefits - Simple IRA - On-going professional development - CPR/First Aid Training How do I apply?
