    PRIMARY FUNCTION:

    The Grant Manager will report to the Chief Philanthropy Officer to implement the entire grant cycle of activities to achieve a minimum of $1 million in budgeted Foundation grant revenue goals. These duties include researching potential funders, writing grant proposals to new and existing funders, tracking of the entire grant cycle to ensure all materials are submitted in a timely manner, and providing reports on progress both internally and externally. May also help plan and implement fundraising campaigns and/or marketing campaigns to expand our base of individual donors and corporate sponsors, assist with special events, and assist with other projects as assigned.

    The Grant Manager will communicate information in writing and verbally, participate in small group meetings with staff and community members, and help with presentations in the Club and in the community. In carrying out these duties the Grant Manager will work closely with the Chief Philanthropy Officer, other Resource Development staff and the Resource Development Committee.

    KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

    1. Researches and identifies prospective funders – including Foundations, Local, State & Federal grant opportunities – to support current and prospective programs and identified areas of financial growth.

    2. Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposal (RFPs), and attending strategy meetings.

    3. Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation.

    4. Prepares proposals by determining concept, gathering and formatting information, writing drafts, and obtaining approvals.

    5. Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, and transmittal.

    6. Writes, revises, and edits drafts including Letters of Interest (LOI), executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials.

    7. Coordinates requirements with funders and contributes proposal status information for internal review meetings.

    8. Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate.

    9. Maintains grants database to ensure accurate information about funders, giving history, areas of interest, progress on work plans and on-time delivery of all materials needed through the entire grant cycle.

    10. Maintains electronic and hard copy filing systems making sure they are accurate and timely and facilitating easy retrieval of information.

    11. Stays informed about Club programs and metrics.

    12. Tracks, writes and submits all grant-funded program reports with support from related program staff to ensure compliance of grant deliverables and funding requirements.

    13. Leads monthly internal grant team meetings to provide coordinated efforts between Resource Development and Operations staff, which may include kick-off and progress meetings to meet specific grant requirements.

    14. May supervise one or more staff Grant Writer.

    Other

    1. Assists with special projects in the area of Resource Development including but not limited to special events. This includes occasional evening and weekend events.

    2. Assists with special projects in the area of Resource Development including but not limited to marketing projects.

    3. Maintains confidentiality of all data.

    4. Prepares correspondence and reports as requested by Chief Philanthropy Officer.

    5. Proofreads all materials for accuracy prior to supervisory review and signature.

    RELATIONSHIPS:

    Internal: Maintains close daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer) and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.

    External: Maintains contact with current and prospective donors, community partners and the general public to give and obtain information, either in response to inquiries or as instructed by supervisor.

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

    · B.A. Degree or equivalent experience.

    · Minimum of 2 years demonstrated professional experience in grants management.

    · Proficiency in data management and database systems.

    · Training in use of common office equipment.

    · Typing/keyboarding skill of at least 35 wpm.

    · Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

    · Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    · Excellent organization and attention to detail.

    · Able to maintain strict confidentiality.

    · Able to work independently and collaboratively.

    · Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with deadlines while remaining flexible to adapt to and manage the unexpected.

    · Mandatory CPR and First Aid certification.

    · Mandatory mandated reporter and abuse prevention trainings.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Normal internal office environment and loud fast-paced Club environment. Ability to thrive in an environment that features constant change, flexibility and a need to be innovative and creative. May telecommute up to 90% of time; however, on-site monthly meetings and/or high-priority projects will require in-person attendance. This position requires with or without accommodations, sight, hearing, ability to type and use digits accurately, bending, crouching, sitting for up to eight hours each day, ability to move throughout club facilities, and other physical requirements needed to complete essential functions of the position and other duties as assigned.
