    Framatome is seeking a Supervisor Engineering, Senior Specialty I&C for our Old Forest Road office in Lynchburg, Virginia.

     

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    Provides daily front-line supervision and advanced technical support for a team of engineers and support staff in a specific engineering specialty or function. Scope of work typically includes planning and scheduling work, supervising workflow, and adherence to budget. Supervises the execution of engineering processes, reviews progress and updates management, as needed. Provides input to, or conducts, staff appraisals.

     

     

    Major Duties

    • Ensures effective performance of engineering assignments.
    • Plans and directs the timely execution of engineering activities, as assigned.
    • Ensures projects, initiatives, and processes comply with established policies, objectives and customer standards.
    • Ensures adherence to government, organization and customer engineering standards and procedures.
    • Monitors goals, objectives and standards of performance for assigned team members.
    • Works interactively with customers and clients to develop strong relationships.
    • Researches and assesses best practices, proposing methods and improvements.
    • Works on special projects, as directed.
    • Performs other related duties and tasks, as required.

     

     

     

    TRAVEL: Up to 25%

    Required Skills Required Experience

    ALL CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY:

    • BS in Eng'g/Eng'g Tech. plus 7 years of engineering experience. An advanced degree may be substituted for related exp. (MBA/MS 1-2 yrs. or PhD 1- 3 yrs.). In applicable states a PE license will be accepted in lieu of 4 yr eng'g degree.

     

     

     

    THE FOLLOWING MAY BE USED TO DIFFERENTIATE CANDIDATES WHO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION:

    • Framatome LSS Black Belt certification preferred.
    • Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria
    • Good communication skills including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data
    • Demonstrated leadership ability to manage multiple tasks and projects through subordinates
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong analytical ability and problem identification/problem resolution skills
    • Engineering Organizations may have additional qualification requirements with established criterion to demonstrate success

  • Qualifications
    • Assist with coordination of events and trainings developed and/or hosted by Learning & Development
    • Support the L&D team with learning projects and initiatives, including working with internal leaders and subject matter experts to ensure we meet their requirements
    • Assist with updating our learning management system, CCUonline, with our scheduled training sessions, report and track all training needs and completed training activity, build out of modules and integrations
    • Support the coordination of programs including room bookings, communication design, pre- and post-course work, calendar invitations, reminders, preparation of course materials and follow up evaluation surveys
    • Support the management of employee certifications by enrolling in programming, submitting applications, and tracking certifications and related materials
    • Assist in managing the tuition reimbursement program
    • Manage workshop enrollments to ensure we have high attendee numbers; monitoring waiting lists and scheduling sessions for individuals when spaces become available
    • Manage the training room and workshop set-ups, resources required for the session, keep the training rooms stocked up i.e. flip charts, pens etc. are available, rooms are clean and tidy
    • Assist with instruction design, development, and testing of courses
    • Maintain a log of our training providers and technical trainers and proactively seek feedback of existing providers and information regarding new suppliers
    • Support the Learning & Development team throughout the onboarding/training process for new hires
    • Maintain curriculum and other learning and development resources
    • Collaborate with Learning and Development colleagues on special projects
