    ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW: The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) is the largest expanded learning time organization in Silicon Valley, serving over 2,500 K-12 students at 13 sites in East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Redwood City. In neighborhoods where 1/3 of the youth drop out of high school, BGCP members learn the importance of education and become part of a community of learners, wanting and expecting to succeed in school. In three clubhouses and ten school sites, we implement proven social and academic interventions that most impact a child’s achievement in school and in life.

    POSITION OVERVIEW The Human Resources Assistant position is a temporary, part-time role providing important administrative and operational support to the Human Resources (HR) department. Your primary responsibilities will be to help ensure new hires and volunteers/interns complete all required compliance items and paperwork prior to their start dates, as well as to process and file employee documents and personnel files into our cloud-based database. You will be a part of a 6-member HR team and will report to the Head of Human Resources.

    POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Assistant EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Temporary, Part-Time PAY RATE: $20.00 - $22.50 per hour HOURS: Mondays and Wednesdays, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (In-Person); Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM (Remote) LOCATION: Menlo Park Admin Office 

    WHAT WILL YOU DO?

    • Ensure all new hire and new volunteer/intern compliance items and paperwork are submitted and successfully completed prior to their start dates
    • Organize, process, file, and upload HR-related documents onto cloud-based database
    • Provide general office and administrative support to the Admin team
    • Foster physical and emotional safety and provide excellent customer service
    • Provide daily communication and reporting to BGCP’s Human Resources team
    • Maintain positive relationships with other administrative staff, new hires, new volunteers/interns, as well as BGCP site-based leadership teams
    • Undertake other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

    • MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF COVID VACCINATION BY 6/4/2021 (if eligible for medical exemption, please communicate directly with BGCP's Human Resources team
    • Keen attention to detail and ability to improve systems for efficiency and effectiveness
    • Maturity and strong communication skills
    • Positive attitude, team player, strong customer service orientation
    • Enjoys working with and around children and young adults
    • Ability to work independently and problem-solve with minimal supervision
    • Familiarity with basic computer skills (specific training will be provided)
    • Completed high school diploma or equivalent
    • Negative COVID-19 test result (in-house testing on first day)
    • Live-Scan clearance and negative TB test results (prior to start)
    • Mandated Reporter Training certificate (prior to start)
    • Sexual Harassment Training certificate (prior to start)
