Special Events Intern

This is an unpaid internship, but college credits can be earned. Available: Spring Semester 2022Applicable Fields: Event Planning, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Non-Profit Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

This internship provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience working in the fundraising department of an established nonprofit with a mission that impacts thousands of children each year. This intern will work closely with the Special Events Manager and other members of the Resource Development team and will assist with the coordination of major fundraising events. These job responsibilities will include:

Assist with the coordination of event details, including onsite details, communications plans and mass mailings – 25%

Follow up on event sponsorship and auction item fulfillment – 50%

Establish business contacts as potential event sponsors – 10%

Representing the organization at community events – 10%

Other administrative support as needed – 5%

Attendance required night of Big Event – June 4th, 2022 at the Louisville Marriott Downtown

The Special Events Intern will gain experience in the planning and execution of events, serving as an outreach ambassador in the community, and other nonprofit administrative skills. Requires 14-20 hours per week.

Minimal weeknight and weekend work required.

Must have reliable transportation. Minimum Qualifications:

This candidate must be very outgoing, organized, thorough, and detail-oriented. Must have the ability and willingness to handle multiple projects on a weekly basis. Must meet flexible schedule requirements. Candidate should be a self-starter and able to work well in a team environment. Desire to learn and work in a fast-paced, professional environment is a must.
