    The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington (BGCSWWA or Clubs) is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time, year-round YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONAL. 

    MISSION STATEMENT

    To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    With supervision from the Club Director, the YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONAL (Elementary) will:

    • Plan and implement a variety of activities for elementary aged YOUTH (both in person and virtually) in a variety of areas - SPORTS, GAMES, TECHNOLOGY, ART, EDUCATION, ETC. and other recreational settings.
    • Provide behavioral guidance using de-escalation techniques, restorative practices, and problem-solving.
    • Provide direction, affirm positive behavior and act as a role model to youth.
    • Provide a safe environment through active supervision, setting clear expectations and maintaining clean program areas.
    • Conduct frequent cleaning and sanitizing with a particular emphasis on commonly touched surfaces around your work space.
    • Support the implementation of high yield learning activities in a virtual setting.
    • Maintain a good reputation and moral conduct outside of work, in the community and on social media.
    • Assist with the distribution of food to children and teens, including set up and clean up at assigned food distribution site(s).

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School diploma or GED – REQUIRED
    • Some higher education – Preferred
    • Pass a National Background Check – REQUIRED
    • One (1) year similar experience working with youth – Preferred
    • Possess skills for instruction, direction and guidance, with the ability to lead and control groups of youth in various recreational and educational activities – REQUIRED
    • Experience with program planning and implementation – Preferred

    WORK SCHEDULE

    Must be available Monday-Friday 1pm-6pm

    Approximately 15-20 hours per week depending on program needs

    EMPLOYMENT TYPE
