    JOIN OUR PROFESSIONAL TEAM AT WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY AND HELP CHANGE THE LIVES OF VANCOUVER’S YOUTH!

    The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington (BGCSWWA) is seeking an Elementary Youth Development Professional.

     

    MISSION STATEMENT

    To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    With supervision from the Club Director, the YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONAL will:

    • Plan and implement a variety of activities for ELEMENTARY AGE YOUTH in a specialty area - SPORTS, GAMES, TECHNOLOGY, ART, EDUCATION and other recreational settings.
    • Provide behavioral guidance using conflict resolution techniques, restorative practices, and problem-solving.
    • Provide guidance, affirm positive behavior and act as a role modeling to youth.
    • Provide a safe environment through active supervision, setting clear expectations and maintaining clean program areas.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School diploma or GED – REQUIRED
    • Some higher education – Preferred
    • Pass a National Background Check – REQUIRED
    • One (1) year similar experience working with youth – Preferred
    • Possess skills for instruction, direction and guidance, with the ability to lead and control groups of youth in various recreational and educational activities – REQUIRED
    • Experience with program planning and implementation – Preferred
    • CPR & First Aid Certifications – REQUIRED within 6 months of hire date.

     

    WORK SCHEDULE

    Must be available to work between 1pm – 5pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday  

    Approximately 20 hours per week

    COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

    • -$14.00 per hour
