    Position Type: Full-Time Hourly, 40 hours a week

    **_**This position at full time hours is a seasonal position only. However, interested employees may be eligible to stay on as part time Teen Development Professionals for after-school programming. _

    Compensation: Hourly rate $17.40/hr.

    Reports To: Teen Program Director

    Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 hour shifts Purpose of Position:

    The Boys and Girls Club of Flagstaff is looking for seasonal Teen Development Professionals at our youth summer camp! We rely on the dedication of caring employees to provide a safe, nurturing environment for kids to learn and grow.

    Under the direct supervision of the Teen Program Director, you will lead program areas and provide young people with a fun, safe place to foster academic success, good character and leadership, and healthy lifestyles. We are looking for someone who is upbeat, likes working with teens, and is ready to participate in all of our activities. In this role, you will:

    Prepare Youth for Success

    Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Teen Development Outcomes by:

    Promoting and stimulating participation in assigned programs

    Assisting youth with goal setting and skills development

    Providing guidance and role modeling to teens

    Providing mentorship for teens (you are not a teacher, but you are also not a friend) properly supervising youth in your care

    Develop & Implement Programs

    Enable BGCF to provide quality, developmentally appropriate programs by:

    Conducting daily outcome-oriented programs for teens

    Monitoring and evaluating assigned programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the branch at all times

    Preparing weekly progress reports, administer surveys, track progress and make continuous program improvement to assigned programs

    Provide direct supervisor with regular updates regarding program activities, including a weekly progress report

    Provide Secondary Site Support

    Work with your team as a cohesive unit to support the success of the organization by:

    Maintaining standards of child safety and promoting active youth participation in programs

    Working with youth and youth staff, as needed

    Commitment to professional development by completing all assigned trainings

    Assisting in regular facility maintenance, including but not limited to, cleaning, tidying, organizing, and moving of Club property

    Transporting youth and teens from schools to Club site, as needed

    Checking in youth and teens as they arrive to Club site, as needed

    Answering phone calls and greeting visitors, as needed

    Assisting parents (examples: taking payments, handing out bills, answering questions, promoting services, assisting with drop-off and pick-up, etc), as needed

    Required Qualifications:

    Must be at least 18 years of age and have valid identification.

    Must have previous experience working with youth and be willing to occasionally work with all age groups.

    Must have access to reliable transportation

    Must be able to commit to working the entire duration of summer camp.

    Desired Qualifications:

    CPR and First Aid Certifications

    Secondary Education Credits

    Background in teen program planning

    Customer service skills for interacting with community partners and parents

    Ability to organize program areas Ability to problem solve

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. The employee is required to drive a vehicle for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception. The employee is required to sit for periods of time to perform functions on the computer. The employee is required to participate and facilitate each program area, but just supervise.

    Work Environment:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
