    Title: Computer Clubhouse Coordinator

    Department: Maxwell Clubhouse

    Reports To: Director of Youth Programs, Maxwell Clubhouse

    Status: Non-Exempt, Full-time, 30-35 Hours per week

    Compensation: $21-23 an hour

    ****JOB SUMMARY:

    Under the direct supervision of the Director of Youth Programs, Maxwell Clubhouse, the Computer Clubhouse Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and programming of all youth lead technology programs.

    The ideal candidate will be an upbeat, collaborative, and proactive thinker, intrinsically motivated to exceed expectations and contribute to our collective goal of having a positive impact on the youth we serve. Qualified candidates will be passionate about youth development and have experience working with youth 5 to 18 years old, possess special skills or interests in the technology field that they are enthusiastic about sharing with our members.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Design, develop and lead innovative elementary, middle school, and teen technology-related activities and projects throughout the year.
    • Lead power hour and assist with homework help. This includes a group of up to 20 members between the ages 6-14.
    • Assist Club members with graphics & design projects.
    • Instruct members in safe techniques of on-line research, use of email, and other educational technology initiatives.
    • Monitor internet usage and instruct members to obtain written information, photos, and graphics from Internet sites for use in homework and projects.
    • Teach Web Design, Desktop Publishing, and various computer science programs.
    • Maintain connections and serve as a liaison with the national Computer Clubhouse Network and participating in Network related programs.
    • Provide all required reports to Maxwell Director to maintain compliance with grant requirements.
    • Collect, maintain, catalog, and analyze records about program implementation and impact.
    • Train, observe and evaluate the job performance of Computer Clubhouse staff.
    • Contribute information to grant/funding proposals as appropriate.
    • Maintain positive interactions with members, families, and community members.
    • Complete safety incident reports for any incident or reoccurring behavior problems.
    • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures as described in Employee Handbook and elsewhere.
    • Adhere to Boys & Girls Club philosophy.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
    • Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications
    • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Knowledge of music making/recording a plus)
    • Knowledge of coding, 3D printing, and other digital multimedia tools
    • Experience working with K-12 students, understanding how to engage and motivate youth of various age groups and backgrounds. Knowledge of youth development principles and developmental characteristics.
    • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, behavior management techniques, principles of effective youth development
    • Ability to collaborate with supervisors, staff, peers, and the community.
    • Strong work ethics, organizational skills, and ability to document program curriculum and outcomes.
    • Ability to take initiative and provide leadership around expertise within the organization.
    • Strong oral and written communication.
    • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
    • Ability to supervise and manage staff.
    • Ability to be CPR and First Aid certified.
    • Ability to pass a DOJ fingerprint clearance (if 18 or older) and provide a negative TB test.
    • Complete and pass mandated reporter training.
    • Ability to pass the Sonoma Valley Unified School District’s Instructional Aide test with al least 70%.
    • Ability to lift or carry up to 50lbs.
    • Bilingual a plus

    RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum of three years in technology
    • Boys & Girls Club Movement experience is preferred.
