    POSITION: Bus Driver

    SALARY RANGE: $16-17/hour

    REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

    HOURS PER WEEK: Part-time, afternoons & weekends; variable schedule depending on need

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Under the direction of the Director of Operations, operate and maintain Club vehicles to transport members safely and efficiently to an assigned location.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain a safe environment within vehicle while transporting children (i.e. proper discipline techniques, knowledge of emergency procedures, etc).
    • Demonstrate exceptional customer service and professionalism.
    • Maintain positive interaction with youth both in and outside of the bus/van environment.
    • Transport youth to functions including field trips and special events.
    • Performs pre-trip inspection on vehicles prior to driving; reports and mechanical defects; maintains vehicles in a safe, clean, sanitary and orderly condition (fueling, washing, etc.); inspects and operates as needed fire extinguishers, first aid kits and other emergency equipment.
    • Prepares and maintains detailed records including mileage and incident reports; completes vehicle inspection logs.
    • Works cooperatively with organization staff within a team environment.
    • Performs other related duties as requested

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS (proof required with application submission):

    • CA Class B License with Passenger Endorsement (min. 2 years)

    • CA Special Driver's Certificate for School Bus or Youth Bus Drivers

    • Current H-6 DMV printout

    • Current Medical Examiner's Certificate

    • MUST BE A GOOD ROLE MODEL FOR YOUTH - LEAD BY EXAMPLE

    • Must be at least 21 years of age

    • Knowledge of current safety and road regulations for the state of California

    • Must report suspected child abuse in accordance with California law

    • Must have experience working with youth

    • Must successfully complete Live Scan background check and pass a pre-employment drug test

    • Must be able to work in the United States

    • Must be available to work some evenings and weekends as needed
