    Location: Brady Market, 307 Gifford St, Syracuse NY

    Position Start Date: February 12, 2024

    Reports to: Meat Department Manager, Front End Manager

    Pay: Hourly, non-exempt, full-time (around 35 hrs/week)

    Brady Market is a community grocery store located on the Westside of Syracuse, striving to offer opportunities for quality health and quality jobs in underserved communities through food.     Scope of Position:

    The Meat Department & Front End Team Member assists with meat production (wrapping and grinding meat) and maintenance (cleaning the equipment and room), and performs cashier, stocking, customer service, maintenance, and other duties for the front end. They are professional, hard working, and friendly to help the team operate successfully and help customers enjoy their shopping experience.

    Responsibilities, Meat Department:

    Package and wrap fresh cut meat products for sale

    Fill, clean, and pull from the meat display case

    Clean the meat department, including meat cutting machinery

    Assist customers professionally and kindly

    Take meat cut orders from customers and ensure it’s received by meat cutters

    Retrieve stock from cooler or freezer

    Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner

    Responsibilities, Front End:

    Operating the register in a welcoming and respectful manner

    Greeting customers and providing outstanding customer service, including assisting customers in a prompt and courteous manner

    Completing maintenance duties for the store and building

    Assist with breaking down deliveries

    Stocking merchandise

    Learning the basics of other departments, such as serving hot food or wrapping meat

    Perform other tasks as assigned

    Required Skills & Abilities:

    Customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills

    Ability to work as a member of a team

    Familiarity with cash register and POS systems

    Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple demands

    Ability to count change and provide accurate change due to customers

    Qualifications:

    Required

    Proficient in English

    Preferred

    Experience in retail

    Conversational in Spanish

    Physical & Other Requirements:

    Required to sit, stand, and walk regularly.

    Required to use hands and crouch when moving product frequently

    Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.

    Required to work in freezer at 0oF and cooler at 32oF frequently

    Must have access to timely and reliable transportation

    Typical Work Schedule:

    4-5 days a week, Monday through Friday, sometime between 8 am - 7 pm

    Sunday through Saturday, sometime between 8 am and 5 pm.

    Must be available to work weekends
