Scope of Position:

We are looking for a Meat Cutter with exceptional butcher skills to join our meat department. In this role, you will break down meat products for retail sale and customer orders while following food safety guidelines. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Meat Cutter to work with a tight-knit crew and contribute to the success of a young and growing business.

Responsibilities:

Break down beef, pork, poultry, or other meat products into various cuts

Wrap, package, label and weigh products for sale

Operate the band saw, grinder, meat tenderizer, and patty making machine

Merchandise meat cases to maximize sales

Receive, inspect, and store meat deliveries

Complete necessary food safety procedures and documentation

Properly clean and sanitize the meat room and equipment

Collaborate with other team members, including across departments

Perform other tasks as assigned

Required Skills & Abilities:

Meat cutting skills and knowledge of a variety of meat products

Customer service and interpersonal skills

Basic writing, reading, and verbal communication skills, basic math skills

Time management skills

Qualifications:

Required

Prior meat cutting experience or training

Proficient in English

Preferred

Experience in training others (such as assistants or wrappers)

Conversational in Spanish

Has drivers license

Physical & Other Requirements:

Required to sit, stand, and walk regularly.

Required to use hands and crouch when moving product frequently

Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.

Required to work in freezer at 0oF and cooler at 32oF frequently

Must have access to timely and reliable transportation

Required to operate a forklift
